From the cottage there are walks with stunning views; Clach Thoul - see picture, (an easy half an hour walk from Port Appin means "the rock with a hole"). Glen Creran to Ballachulish has an old track (7m / 11km) starting with a steep hill, but leading to open moorland and providing terrific views of the hills around Creran.
